Cows show affection by licking each others’ heads, shoulders and backs. If they are separated from their friends, they often get stressed and sad. It’s not difficult for cows to tell each other apart: they have unique voices and scents. In addition, the animals can identify up to 100 faces from their herd and are highly intelligent. Not only can they solve puzzles, but they actually really enjoy them. If they work out how to open a gate with a button, they jump up and down and frolic around.

After birth, the calves are lovingly licked dry by their mothers in their stall. After just a few days, they can join the other cows out on the pasture to frolic around and play. A few weeks later, they start eating grass and hay. However, they still can’t digest the fresh green fodder as well as adult cows. That’s why calves keep drinking their mother’s milk for six to twelve months. They are fully grown by the age of around five, and can live to an age of between 20 and 25.

The Wire-Haired Dachshund raises its cute tousled head with its distinctive moustache. It watches your every move and knows when you are about to leave the house. Going out? It’s right there with you! This little whirlwind is very lively and always up for an adventure. It gets especially excited when there is a wild animal in the forest to be sniffed out. That’s when its hunting instinct kicks in. It isn’t even afraid of going into deep holes. Although it has short legs, it can dig holes like a champ. Before you know it, its long little body has completely disappeared!
