I wonder if the white Galloway cow knows that she is quite special, with her black ears and hooves? Her companions usually have a darker coat. But their fluffy fleece with little curls ensures they stay warm even in the coldest winter. That’s why the Galloways prefer to stand outside in the pasture all year round. In the snow, the white Galloway cow is really well camouflaged. Only her black nose and ears shine boldly out amidst the white!

During the day, goats’ pupils narrow to almost rectangular, horizontal slits. This is used to protect their eyes from too much sunlight. With their broad pupils they have a wide field of view of 320-340 degrees and can promptly recognize enemies like wolves.

GOLDENDOODLE
The name of our Goldendoodle from schleich® FARM WORLD comes from the fact that the breed is a mixture of golden retriever and poodle. This is where his typical poodle curls come from. They are perfect for petting, and also for painting. Then they’re no longer so wonderfully golden but are perfect as a brush. Like all dogs, our crossbreed is color blind, so he won’t hold it against you. He won’t even notice it.

WOW! Our Greyhound from schleich® FARM WORLD runs almost as fast as the wind. Long legs and a sleek stature make it possible. When he’s in the mood, he can almost go as fast as a car on the motorway. In private, however, he prefers to take it easy on the tractor. There, just for a change, his face doesn’t flap in the wind so much. His breed is one of the oldest in the world. It is so old that pictures have been discovered in the pyramids of ancient Egypt. Even back then, the dogs probably used their long-haired ears to listen when someone called “fetch!” Then they switched to turbo mode. Give it a try.

Hens lay between 250-300 eggs per year. Although it may look that way at first, no two eggs are the same. They are of varying size and never have the same colour. They can be white, light or even dark brown. Even the small spots and speckles are always a little different.

HIGHLAND BULL
The Highland Bull from schleich® FARM WORLD has a long, warm coat. It is so thick and wooly that even icy cold doesn’t bother him. That’s why he can stay outside all year round. The bulls are easy to distinguish from the cows – the horns of males are bent forward almost horizontally. The horns of females are significantly longer and curve upwards.

HOLSTEIN COW
Cows show affection by licking each others’ heads, shoulders and backs. If they are separated from their friends, they often get stressed and sad. It’s not difficult for cows to tell each other apart: they have unique voices and scents. In addition, the animals can identify up to 100 faces from their herd and are highly intelligent. Not only can they solve puzzles, but they actually really enjoy them. If they work out how to open a gate with a button, they jump up and down and frolic around.
