París es un juego que se desarrolla a finales de siglo XIX en París durante la Exposición Universal de 1889, o feria mundial, cuando la electricidad pública era un tema candente. La electricidad se extendió por toda la ciudad, creando bellas calles nocturnas parisinas y acuñando el apodo de París “La Cité de la Lumière”, la ciudad de las luces.
Los transeúntes admiran más los edificios mejor iluminados. En la primera fase, los jugadores pueden colocar fichas o aumentar su reserva de edificios. Las fichas de adoquines se dividen en 4 espacios aleatorios (su color, el color de sus oponentes, una farola o un espacio de colores mezclados donde cualquiera de los jugadores puede construir).
Después, en la segunda fase, los jugadores construyen sobre su color o espacios mixtos, en un esfuerzo por colocar sus edificios lo más cerca posible de la mayor cantidad de farolas. Más farolas solicitan mayor adoración y puntos. El jugador con los mejores edificios iluminados roba los corazones de los peatones parisinos y gana el juego.
