El Acrocanthosaurus era aproximadament tan gran i pesava pràcticament el mateix que el Tyrannosaurus Rex i el Giganotosaurus.

A l’contrari que altres dinosaures, el seu crani no tenia cinc, sinó set orificis. En el coll, esquena i cua tenia moltes prolongacions vertebrals punxegudes, que segurament formaven una petita vela.

Es creu que el distintiu Pachycephalosaurus amb cap de cúpula va fer servir el seu gruixut crani durant el combat amb altres de la seva espècie, potser mentre intentava impressionar possibles parelles. És possible que s’hagin copejat el cap o xocat contra el costat de l’altre. Aquesta detallada figura de Pachycephalosaurus et transportarà al Període Cretaci Tardío!
Història: Pachycephalosaurus va ser descobert i nomenat formalment el 1931, encara que és possible que s’hagi trobat algun material fòssil molt abans. Es coneix només per cranis, i el disseny del seu cos es basa en parents més completament coneguts, inclòs Stegoceras. Es creu que dos paquicefalosaures similars, Dracorex i Stygimoloch, en realitat poden representar diferents etapes de creixement de Pachycephalosaurus. Aquesta teoria suggereix que a mesura que el dinosaure creixia, les pues del cap es tornaven més desafilades i la cúpula a la part superior del seu crani es feia més pronunciada.
Nom científic: Pachycephalosaurus ("llangardaix de cap gruixut")
Característiques: aquesta joguina de Pachycephalosaurus amb cap d’os presenta el seu crani voltat característic i protuberàncies òssies al cap per les quals el dinosaure és ben conegut. El seu cap presenta una ferida de combat, que és una característica que s’ha trobat almenys en un crani de Pachycephalosaur.

El descobriment de Yutyrannus va canviar la manera com els paleontòlegs pensaven sobre els grans tiranosaures. Les plomes d’aquest parent carnívor de T. rex van suggerir que altres tiranosaures grans també les podrien tenir. Yutyrannus va caçar durant el Cretaci inicial a la Xina, fa uns 125 milions d’anys, i va ser el principal depredador del seu entorn.
Història: Es coneixen tres exemplars de Yutyrannus huali, inclòs un esquelet articulat gairebé complet d’adult. El nom Yutyrannus prové de ‘yu’, la paraula mandarina per a plomes, i ‘tyrannus’, el llatí per a tirà; aquest nom reflecteix la presència de plomes conservades al costat dels ossos i l’estret parentiu de Yutyrannus amb altres tiranosaures.
Nom científic: Yutyrannus huali
Característiques: Tal com mostra la nostra joguina Yutyrannus, aquest dinosaure era un carnívor de dues potes amb braços curts i un cap gran. Tenia unes dents corbes afilades, una cresta baixa que recorre la part superior del crani i una llarga cua contrapesada. Tenia unes mans grans amb tres dits i grans urpes. El seu cos estava cobert de plomes filamentoses peludes. Va créixer fins a 30 peus de llarg, la mida d’un microbús.
